Mt. Shasta Integrative Medicine:
Empowering You to Awaken the Doctor Within.

I grew up with two traditions of medicine in China. My grandmother was a midwife who practiced Chinese traditional medicine and believed in nature’s ability to heal. My mother, one of the first cardiologists and a clinical professor in China, is firmly rooted in the science and rescuing power of western medicine.

I have seen the beauty and power in both traditions, and I have made it my craft to integrate the wisdom of the east with the science of the west.

I completed six years of medical school in Beijing, China, five years of graduate school in human physiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin, three years of postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California San Francisco, and three years of residency in internal medicine.

After opening my internal medicine practice in Mt. Shasta, I have worked with many physicians who strongly believe in the rescuing power of western medicine. I am deeply
respectful of their devotion and skill in taking care of the sickest patients at the forefront of delivering modern medicine to people in crisis.
Meanwhile I have also shared frustration with many of them regarding the lack of emphasis on the importance of personal responsibility and education in achieving disease prevention and healing.

I have become more and more aware that managing symptoms of chronic diseases without addressing the causes is often ineffective in the long run, and carries increased risks of side effects and adverse reactions, especially in older people taking multiple edications.

During my recent 5 years of research and study in the science of anti-aging and regenerative medicine, I have become more and more excited about the possibility of achieving optimal health and healing through powerful, natural, noninvasive and affordable spiritual, nutritional and lifestyle intervention.

I have come to realize that a highly integrative approach combining evidence-based, effective lifestyle intervention, cellular detoxification, natural hormone balance and restoration, and careful, selective use of pharmaceutical drugs provides the most cost-effective delivery of a health promotion / disease prevention system.

In my pursuit of complementary modalities in creating an optimal and holistic healing environment for the human
body, I also have the pleasure of meeting some of the most
talented alternative health care professionals in our ommunity.

I have learned so much from many of them and become passionate in working together for the wellbeing of the
community at large.

The journey into health and teamwork has led to the birth of Mt. Shasta Integrative Medicine.

I am very excited about the future and the possibility of proactive holistic care and the empowerment of each individual to awaken the doctor in each of us.

It is all about education and the choices we can make.
